Reduce Body Fat = Cutting Diet = Less Food Needed. Increase Muscle Mass = Bulking Diet = More Food Needed. You cannot do both at the same time. This is why most bodybuilders and athletes bulk up first then cut down or vice-versa. Focus on one task first than the other!

Sedentary : you spend a lot of time sitting on a desk (e.g. bank teller, desk job)
Lightly Active: Spending a good part of the day on your feet (e.g. teacher, salesman)
Moderate: Spending a good part of the day doing some physical activity (e.g. waitress, mailman)
Very Active: Spending most of the day doing heavy physical activity (e.g. bike messenger, carpenter)
